Jiuzhaigou & Huanglong + Minjiang Source — 3-Day VIP Experience

Escape into one of China’s most breathtaking highland landscapes on this expertly curated three-day journey through northwestern Sichuan. Travelling by high-speed rail from Chengdu, you will ascend into the Tibetan-Qiang plateau to discover three distinct natural wonders: the golden travertine terraces and prismatic pools of Huanglong, the UNESCO World Heritage fairyland of Jiuzhaigou, and the pristine highland wetlands at the source of the ancient Min River.

Why This Tour

  • Small VIP Group: Maximum 8 guests — no crowded coaches, no compromise on pace
  • High-Speed Rail Included: Comfortable 2nd-class train from central Chengdu, no long-haul coach transfer
  • Two UNESCO-Level Sites: Jiuzhaigou World Heritage Park + Huanglong National Scenic Reserve in one trip
  • All Major Tickets Covered: Jiuzhaigou admission + eco-shuttle bus; Huanglong admission — no hidden add-ons
  • Private Executive Transfer: 7 or 9-seat business van between sites; guaranteed individual seat
  • Minjiang Source Bonus: Stand at the 4,300 m headwaters of the Min River inside a pristine national wetland park
  • December Edition: Winter-season itinerary optimised for off-peak serenity and lower crowd density

Destinations at a Glance

Huanglong Scenic & Historic Interest Area — A high-altitude valley of calcite terraces and vivid mineral pools stretching through dense forest at elevations between 2,800–4,070 m. Often described as “a jade dragon lying on earth,” Huanglong is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Man and Biosphere Reserve.

Jiuzhaigou National Park — Spread across three valley branches in a Y-shape configuration, Jiuzhaigou shelters over 100 alpine lakes, dozens of multi-tiered waterfalls, and rich Tibetan cultural heritage. Its startlingly clear, colour-shifting water is the park’s defining wonder. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.

Minjiang Source National Wetland Park — Located in Shuijing Township, Songpan County, this pristine wetland park protects the headwaters of the Min River from Gonggang Ridge (4,300 m a.s.l.) eastward. Layers of ecological significance intersect with Long March cultural history, making it an extraordinary final chapter to this highland journey.

Travel Style & Pace

This is an active, scenery-led itinerary best suited to guests who enjoy moderate walking (4–8 km per day on park trails), high-altitude environments, and authentic highland culture. Accommodation along the route meets comfortable local standards; guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of highland adventure rather than urban hotel expectations.

Day 1 · Chengdu → Huanglong → Chuanzhusi / Jiuzhaigou

Trekking Route (recommended for fit travellers):
Welcome Pool → Feiyuan Waterfall → Bathing Cave → Golden Sand Ground → Bonsai Pool → Shita Zhenhai → Huanglong Temple → Huanglong Cave → Five-Colour Pool (approx. 4,200 m one way)

Half-Cable-Car Route (efficient & scenic):
Cable car to upper station → Five-Colour Pool → Huanglong Temple → Shita Zhenhai → Bonsai Pool → Golden Sand Ground → Bathing Cave → Feiyuan Waterfall → Welcome Pool → Main Gate

Cable car not included: Ascent ¥80/person · Descent ¥40/person (optional, pay on site)

After the visit, transfer to your hotel in Chuanzhusi or Jiuzhaigou.

Meals: Lunch – own account · Dinner – own account
Accommodation: Chuanzhusi or Jiuzhaigou

Day 2 · Jiuzhaigou National Park (Full Day)

After breakfast, head to the “Fairyland on Earth” — Jiuzhaigou UNESCO World Heritage National Park (eco-shuttle bus included). Board the park’s zero-emission shuttle and spend a full day discovering iconic lakes and waterfalls:

  • Nuorilang Falls — the widest waterfall in Jiuzhaigou
  • Shuzheng Lake Group — mirror-still turquoise terraces
  • Changhai (Long Lake) — the park’s highest alpine lake at 3,100 m
  • Five-Colour Pool — kaleidoscopic mineral hues
  • Zhenzhu (Pearl) Beach — cascading rapids over golden pebbles
  • Wuhua (Five-Flower) Lake — crystalline multi-layered water

Jiuzhaigou’s three main valleys — Shuzheng, Rize, and Zechawa — form a Y-shape, sheltering over 100 alpine lakes and dozens of cascading falls. Its water, startlingly clear and ever-changing in colour, is the park’s most celebrated wonder. Allow 6–8 hours for a thorough visit.

Meals: Breakfast – hotel · Lunch – own account (Nuorilang Restaurant buffet approx. ¥60/person) · Dinner – own account
Accommodation: Jiuzhaigou

After breakfast, journey to the Minjiang Source National Wetland Park (Shuijing Township, Songpan County, Aba Tibetan & Qiang Autonomous Prefecture). The park stretches east–west from Gonggang Ridge at 4,300 m above sea level, encompassing the pristine headwaters of the Min River.

Immerse yourself in the park’s ecological wonders, absorb the spirit of the Red Army Long March culture, and experience the unique grandeur of the western Sichuan plateau before returning by high-speed train to Chengdu.

Note: Should scheduling constraints prevent a visit to the wetland park, this segment will be cancelled automatically with no refund applicable.
