Welcome to Macau — Essential Travel Information

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit, please take note of the following entry requirements and local regulations.

I. Entry Documents & Length of Stay

  1. Please carry a valid passport with a remaining validity of at least 6 months. Most nationalities may enter Macau visa-free; the permitted length of stay will be indicated on your entry stamp.
  2. Keep your entry documents safe at all times, as they will be required upon hotel check-in and may be requested during inspections.
  3. It is advisable to have your return or onward travel itinerary readily available, as it may be checked upon entry.

II. Funds & Customs Declaration

  1. Immigration officers may conduct random checks on available funds. Visitors staying up to 7 days should carry a minimum of MOP 5,000; those staying 7 to 14 days should carry at least MOP 10,000.
  2. If the total amount of cash and equivalent valuables you carry exceeds MOP 120,000, you are required to make a proactive customs declaration.

III. Currency & Payments

The Macanese Pataca (MOP), Hong Kong Dollar (HKD), and Chinese Renminbi (CNY) are all widely accepted. Mobile payment is broadly supported throughout the city. It is recommended to carry a small amount of cash for public transport and minor purchases.

IV. Traffic & Transportation

Traffic in Macau travels on the left-hand side of the road. Always use designated pedestrian crossings, observe traffic signals, and refrain from using your mobile phone while walking. Free shuttle buses operate between border gates, major attractions, and hotels, making getting around both easy and convenient.

V. Local Laws & Regulations (Strictly Observe)

  1. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas across Macau, including the use of e-cigarettes. Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor zones. Violations are subject to fines.
  2. Entry to casinos is restricted to persons aged 21 and above. Photography, video recording, and loud behavior are strictly prohibited inside all gaming venues.
  3. Spitting and littering are illegal and offenders will be penalized in accordance with local law.
  4. Drone operation and aerial photography are prohibited without prior official authorization.

VI. General Travel Tips

  1. Macau’s climate is warm and humid. Please bring sunscreen and rain gear. Indoor air conditioning is typically set quite low, so a light jacket is recommended.
  2. When visiting churches, temples, and other religious sites, please dress modestly, maintain a quiet demeanor, and respect local customs and traditions.
  3. Keep your passport and valuables secure at all times and remain vigilant about personal safety throughout your trip.

We wish you a wonderful and memorable stay in Macau!

Had the most amazing time on my Macau Intro 3 Day Tour with our awesome group leader Ming! Would highly recommend this trip to anyone who like me, has never visited Macau before. It was a great mixture of UNESCO heritage sightseeing, authentic local food exploration and leisurely old-street wandering. We explored Ruins of St. Paul and Senado Square, captured the iconic Grand Lisboa view hidden amid old residential lanes, sampled Portuguese tarts and pork chop buns on Cunha Street, and admired the unique architecture of Grand Lisboa and The Venetian resort complexes. Massive ups to Ming for her thoughtful support, detailed guidance and flawless itinerary organization, she was the best! You will also gain friends for life guaranteed — already missing my lovely travel group, and I’ll absolutely book future trips with Voyage Global Travel

We spent 3 days with Ryan as our tour guide, and it was incredibly well-organized from the very beginning! Whether it was airport transfer or small daily necessities, Ryan always made time and kept every arrangement perfectly under control. There was so much to experience; I wandered UNESCO heritage old streets, sampled authentic local snacks and admired the distinctive resort architecture, activities I’d struggle to arrange smoothly on my own! I met lovely fellow travellers, and Ryan introduced Macau as a charming, culturally diverse destination! I will definitely come back. It was a pleasure visiting Macau for the first time with this fantastic tour operator Voyage Global Travel.

Our tour guide Ming led us wandering through Macau’s old residential lanes. We caught the iconic view of glittering Grand Lisboa framed by aged local buildings, enjoyed genuine street food and learned local cultural stories. It was a distinctive travel experience and we sincerely recommend this travel agency.

I booked this 3 days 2 nights Macau trip for a quick city break and was really satisfied with the whole arrangement.
Our guide perfectly balanced classic landmarks and local hidden gems: we visited Ruins of St. Paul’s, roamed pastel Taipa streets and stopped by Coloane for authentic egg tarts and pork chop buns. They explained Macau’s unique Portuguese-Chinese history vividly and always gave us enough time to take photos and wander freely around Senado Square.
The pace was relaxed with no rushed schedules or mandatory shopping. Any little travel issues were fixed straight away. It’s an ideal tour if you want to experience Macau’s special charm without planning everything yourself

I signed up for this 3 days 2 nights Macau tour just as a quick weekend escape, and honestly I didn’t expect it to be this good. I was worried group trips would rush you through every spot or shove you into shopping stops, but this one was totally pure sightseeing with zero forced purchases, which won me over right away.
Our guide Mia knew every hidden gem across the whole city. We wandered Senado Square’s cobblestone lanes, took slow photos at the pastel Taipa Portuguese houses, visited the Ruins of St. Paul’s to learn about Macau’s mixed Chinese-Portuguese history, and even drove all the way out to quiet Coloane Village to grab fresh baked Lord Stow’s egg tarts and pork chop buns off the tourist trail. We also got downtime to walk the Cotai Strip, check out the Venetian’s indoor canals and catch the Parisian Eiffel Tower light show at night.
Before we even crossed the border, she sent super practical tips: how to exchange MOP, where to skip long lines, and which local desserts like serradura pudding we had to try. Whenever our group had little hiccups—like lost directions or trouble ordering local food—she jumped in to sort everything out without delay. She never rushed us to leave scenic spots, and always saved enough free time for us to wander small alleyways and soak up Macau’s one-of-a-kind blend of old town calm and glitzy resort glamour.
If you’re visiting Macau for a short trip and don’t wanna stress over transport or planning every single spot yourself, this tour is absolutely worth booking. I left with tons of great photos and a full stomach of amazing Macanese food, couldn’t ask for a better quick getaway!
